Some WiRES-II ® users have reported various problems with their WiRES-II
®station setup such as:
- The user ID and serial number do not appear after installing the WiRES-II
® software
- The ID/station node list do not show up
- Trouble connecting with designated station
- Unable to hear audio from connected station
- Audio not being passed through to connected
station
- Intermittent audio.....etc.
The primary reasons for the above mentioned problems are usually due to
one or both of the following:
1)
Improper configuration of your network router "port forwarding"
settings.
and/or
2) Improper configuration of your computer operating
system's built-in or third party firewall solution.

Your computer may also have firewall software enabled
that protects your computer from undesired connections with the
Internet.
In
addition to the proper configuration setting of your network router’s “port
forwarding” settings you will also need
to ensure the proper configuration settings of your computer’s built-in and/or
third party firewall software to allow "WiRES-II.exe" to be allowed inbound and
outbound connection access through your firewall.
Windows(r) XP SP2 and Windows(r) Vista all have built-in firewall software.
Please refer to your Windows(r) operating system documentation to properly
configure your firewall settings. You may also contact the vendor of your
operating system or find documentation on the Internet to properly configure
your Microsoft(r) firewall software.
Your computer may also have “third-party” firewall
software installed and enabled in which you need to ensure its proper
configuration. Please refer to your firewall software documentation or contact
your firewall software vendor for assistance in the proper configuration of the
firewall software.
It is recommended to use only one firewall software solution on your Microsoft(r)
operating system. If you have two firewall software solutions enabled on
your computer simultaneously please ensure proper configuration of both
firewalls.
